Century is concerned not just with the creation of wealth, but also with its redistribution in an equitable and socially aware manner. Its responsibility is not just to its immediate stakeholders, but also to the community in which it functions. In its quest to serve customers’ needs, it make sure not to neglect those of the disadvantaged and the less privileged, who also form a crucial part of the social fabric in which it operates.
Through the “P. Dayananda Pai & P. Satish Pai Trust”, the Century group of companies has made a significant contribution to the larger community. A self-funded trust, it has provided essential funding and support for the provision of better medical facilities, infrastructure and education opportunities to a wide spectrum of grateful recipients.
The Trust has donated vehicles and ambulances to the Chuchanagiri Blind School, Asha Jeevan and St. Aloysius College; medical equipment to Venloc Hospital and Manipal Hospital; funds towards the renovation of schools such as Jakkur School, Sharada High School and Canara High Schools and temples such as Sree Anjaneya Kodigehalli and Sri Vithoba Devasthana; donations to Anand Ashram and Sankara Eye Hospital. Its philanthropic activities extend not just to educational and medical institutions, but also to causes such as the marriages of poor girls, the provision of mid-day meals to hungry children and the facilitation of scholarship-funded education to deserving but poor students.
